Senior Kitchen Coordinator: Seeking Highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to work in a fast growing food company. At Global Village Foods, we make meals and snacks with bold African flavor. What does that mean exactly? We make the samosas you find in the Hanover, Lebanon and White River Junction co-ops. We also make ready-made meals that you can find in Whole Foods across New England. You can find our brand new manufacturing facility in Quechee, VT right off Route 4.

 Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inventory Management & ordering supplies
  • Supporting, collaborating with, and directing food production personnel
  • Cooking of recipes to ensure consistent deliciousness 
  • Demonstrate high standards in making sure staff and operations work according to procedures and specifications
  • Monitor and document routine cleaning & general care of production equipment 
  • Work and lead by example in all areas of portioning, packaging, weighing, labelling, and logging all food production
  • Work with larger leadership team on strategic production planning and lead kitchen crew on tactical execution of objectives    
  • Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and packaged food products
  • Ensure products and raw materials are stored properly at optimum condition
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and take initiative to execute on them

This position works in the manufacturing facility. You will provide daily communications between the teams at the manufacturing facility and the management team. This position is also responsible for following operation procedures and SOP and adhering to the standards of HACCP plan.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Significant culinary-foodservice training and/or experience
  • Commitment to collaborative, respectful and professional communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong logistical skills and ability work independently, be flexible and entrepreneurial
  • Leadership Skills: Able to coordinate and motivate team members in the activities of high volume food production 
  • Strong Time Management Skills: Able to achieve production targets within set time frame
  • Decision-Making Skills: Must be able to independently make key production decisions to ensure manufacturing of high quality products.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40-60 lbs
  • Competitive salary depending on experience, starting at $15/hr
  • Full time or part-time positions available
